Tags

Tags, which are also called 'keywords', are a way for content, objects and people to be found throughout Elgg. You can learn more about tagging at the Wikipedia page for tags.

In SciSpace.net, keywords are case insensitive, and are separated with commas in any list. This allows for keywords consisting of phrases as well as individual words.

When a keyword has been used more than once, it turns into a link. If you click on that link, you'll see a search page that lists every other object in the system which has been tagged with that keyword, allowing you to very quickly find relevant content.

You can see a selection of popular tags using the Tag cloud button in the toolbar area.

Creating tags

There are several ways in which you can can created tags

  1. When creating a profile for yourself or a community through the My profile page, anything you add to the Interests, Likes, Dislikes and Skills sections are added as tags
  2. When you create blog or wiki entries, you create tags through the keywords box
