I am Course Director for Civil Engineering at Brunel University.
Currently, I am coordinating the establishment of a new Civil Engineering Subject Area within the School of Engineering & Design.
My research interests are broad but focus around environmental change (due to human activity, climatic variability, sea level oscillations and Earth movements), and the implications such change has on soils, channels and coastal contexts. I'm particularly interested in diagnosing rates and magnitudes of change, and the implications of different types of change for sustainabile resource use.
The principles of Sustainability are integrated into my teaching, with the aim to provide Civil Engineering students to be in a strong position to make informed choices in site assessment, design, construction, use and decommisioning.
